Has anyone used the shoe repair on 14th bet 5th and 6th? The one on 9th street and 6th? I apparently didn't get my boots done at the end of last season and am now desperate. Also, seems they both close earlier than I get back from work?

Scarlett... funny you bring it up.. I have a re-sole job on ancient Santana boots (when they were made in Canada and not China) and I will bring them in to the shoe place on 9th Street. If you can't make it before they close pm me and I will bring them in and pick them up for you. I need to walk up the block with my boots anyway.

I brought two pairs of very old, very expensive (but discontinued and thus irreplaceable) Bally shoes to the very nice couple who run the shop on 14th Street. I asked the guy if he could rebuild the shoes, knowing that that could be very expensive. He said it would be less risky just to resole them, which he did very inexpensively. I was very pleased with their honesty and their excellent work.

I used the one on 9th and 6th recently for a very routine repair and it was fine. I have a go-to place in the city that I don't like to cheat on but I would be curious to know if there is someone I can trust my fancy shoes and boots with locally. Maybe I should give the 14th St place a whirl.

Veets, that is SO nice. Thanks. I think the 9th street place is open until 6:30. If I book it, I can get back by then. But I won't be able to drop off until Sunday.

Hey Scarlett.. with this warm weather there seems to be less immediacy with getting those boots up and running. Did you check to see if they are open Sunday?

Yelp says they are open 11-3 on Sundays?
