I'm going hiking in a couple of days and just decided to do a trail in a different park. I have ordered some maps of the East Hudson Trails from amazon, but even if I do one day shipping I probably wouldn't get a new map of West Hudson Trails in time. Does anyone know where I can find trail maps (especially the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference maps)?

There's a place that specializes in that kind of stuff on Garfield Pl. between 7th & 8th Aves. I've bought contour maps of NYS from them. They're closer to 7th Ave on the odd numbered (address) of the street. Just a building or so up from the corner pharmacy.

A lot of gear shops carry those maps. Call some to see who has the one you want in stock. Paragon, REI, and EMS come to mind. Gear to Go (the place the last poster mentioned on Garfield) in the slope might have them.

I've purchased maps from Tent and Trails as well. They're located down by City Hall.

I checked Gear and Go first and they had the map I was looking for and a lot of other trail maps. Thanks!

I've been meaning to give Gear & Go a shout out for a while. It's a great local shop, the owners super friendly and helpful. They rent out all kinds of outdoor items (tents, sleeping bags, portable stoves..) they also organize and lead day hikes. Might be my favorite store in the slope.
