Thank you to everyone who saw the post and the advice some gave. I just got a call from the Prospect Park staff, who said they found the swan and removed a hook (fish hook?) from its beak. The bird will be fine. Just so ya know.

Good work Guidry. They called you? That's impressive.

Mr/Ms. Piano, thank you very much. They did call. I was surprised myself, but then again that's what I would have done.

Do you have a number for the Park people we can call if something like this comes up again?

Here is what i did, last evening about 6:30 pm:
[a] I called 311 and filed a report that would supposedly eventually go to someone in parks or wildlife or something.
[b] I left phone messages with Prospect Park Audubon Ctr and Prospect Park Admin at 718.965.8945 and 718.965.8951. I was called back by 8951 this morning first thing, like 9:00 am. I got these #'s from the prospect park website.
[c] Someone on this msg board said Sean Casey, so I emailed that guy and he emailed me back last night saying they would get on it.So I figured that after all that, perhaps someone would get it done, and thankfully that's how it worked out.

I was just coming to show the pics that the rescuers sent me. A happy ending!
I'll try to get them in the next post

Here you go!
If you want to help wildlife, come to the park on March 26 at 12:30 to gather in support of geese, swans, and other threatened urban animals! I posted details on the Park Slope forum.
ETA: don't seem to be able to resize the images small enough to post. Sorry! If someone wants to do it, I'll email them.
