Greetings:
There is a distressed SWAN in the pond at the SW corner of the park pond, where the birds gather. It is a swan that still has some of the brown plumage on its back. The swan has gotten a piece of white garbage in a ring stuck around its lower beak. It can't get it off. It doesn't seem like paper, cause we watched it thrashing in the water for 20 minutes, and it remained in place. It's Sunday at 6:30. We left messages on the Park Admin phone lines and called 311 to file this with the City. I'm posting this here in case there's someone on the massage board who knows how to get to the swan and help it. --John

Yes I already called 311 and filed a report. Just trying to see if someone could get out there before the city cranks into action.

I sent this info to some people who do bird rehab. Hope they'll be able to help.

Thanks SMW380. I had also emailed Sean Casey after the earlier tip and I got a response from him that he'd be looking into it today. So hopefully the bird will get the help it needs. Thanks again, and thanks to readers of the message boards.
