Great video! You really can pretty much pinpoint the moment the twister came through. I also really love the guy walking his dog (seriously, WTF?) and the asshole making a u-turn.

bradedward » What about the guy on his bike?

with, it looked to me, a child in the kid seat.
    6. Was this 9th Street and 7th Ave? Did the store window blow open?

Yeah, I thought the guy on the bike had a kid seat but I was hoping that he had groceries from the Coop rather than a child.

Also, the food delivery guy. Just figured some folks were either high or late to work, lol.

I u tubed all of the tornado video and absolutely this one caught the moment and captured the sudden change in weather and the brevity of what happened.

Yeah 9th street and 7th ave and the windows were damaged and the door blew out an one person was cut by glass (I think a delivery guy) and this video gives you that powerful picture.

If you have notice NOW if there is rain in the forecast in NYC they make it sound like the end of the world just might arrive this very afternoon. Yeah and last Thursday the forecast just said a little rain and look at this video so I get why we are gun why, tornado shy, keep the bad from us shy!!

Best video of the tornado yet.

I like how the guy walks the dog right over the broken glass.
    11. Heck yes. When the sky gets that green-gray color I start to think, oh no, it is going to happen again! but, I am a New Yorker so the idea goes away!

My mom lived in Arkansas and a few other places during WW! where weather was a bit crazy. She has/had an unusual fear of bad weather and a wonderful sense of curiosity about the sky and clouds. I would go out on the front porch in defiance to show her that nothing would happen.

Now I understand this a bit better, as I am much more wary of weather conditions.

What was so interesting about this experience was watching my neighbors come out of their homes and apartments with a look of bewilderment and wonder. It was so innocent. Also, watching the folks come out of the Q Train at 7th Avenue, seeing the fallen trees and branches all over the place...and not knowing what had just happened.

The sense of wonderment kept me too close to my window while the tornado touched down in my yard and broke a huge tree in half just 12 feet away from me. I couldn't stop watching (although later, I was in shock).

Sorry that folks were hurt. But, this video shows how New York never stops...the cars, trucks and people riding bikes!, walking around, etc.

      Thanks for the posts!

I swear I could hear the glass break at the store across the street. Thanks for sharing such a great video which helps capture how quickly this storm came and left.
