There are tons of kids parading outside on 3rd Street. Anyone know what it's about?

It's a walk-a-thon for Earth Day or Earth Month or something. I've been on a couple of these with my kids. They go from PS 321 up to the park and walk the loop of the park. http://www.ps321.org/

5th Annual Green & Healthy School-Wide Walkathon
On Friday, Public School 321 will hold its fifth annual fundraising Green & Healthy School-Wide Walkathon around Brooklyn’s historic Prospect Park. PS 321’s entire student body, from pre-kindergarteners to 5th graders, along with teachers and families, will participate and walk a two-mile loop in the park together. Held close to Earth Day, the PS 321 Walkathon is part of a year-long campaign to teach children about the importance of protecting our environment, as well as demonstrating those everyday choices that can help make a difference. All funds raised will go to the environmental groups Rainforest Action Network and East New York Farms, as well as Doctors Without Borders in support of their work for the Japanese Earthquake. Friday, April 15. 8:50 a.m. Free. Prospect Park, Brooklyn (enter at 3rd St. and West Drive).Don't get me started -
That's a long walk for 6 year olds' short legs.

the pre-k kids only waled to 3rd Street and 7th Ave and the kindergarten kids only walked to the park. They cheered us on and had a snack.
