Anybody else getting annoyed with the dog that has been barking somewhere behind Butler/Sterling/St. Johns Place? It's been barking for three hours straight...
-
if it's the one i'm thinking of, it's at 375 sterling between park and underhill. sound about right? the dog there is just put out in the back yard and barks continuously until at some point they bring him back in. i have filed numerous complaints with 311 (i think they pass you to dep) and they supposedly have sent letters. i have also left notes at the house asking them to at least wait until a reasonable time of morning to leave the dog out unattended. sometimes these things seems to help for a while but not for long. at any rate, if this is the same one, i'd be happy for someone to complain besides me. (btw, if you do file a noise complaint with 311 you have to leave your name or they won't even pretend to do anything about it. if you leave your name, they will at least pretend.)"Here's a little tip I would like to relate: Many fish bites if you got good bait."

Thanks for pinpointing the address. I live nearby and have been bothered by this dog for a long time, but I could never figure out exactly whose it was. I'll definitely call 311 and probably leave a note as well. Those people are extremely inconsiderate. -
Not just inconsiderate... I'd add neglectful.Be the change you want to see in the... neighborhood.

I live on Butler. The dog barking is a new thing, right? Although I didn't hear it on Saturday (out of town) I did hear it a few times last week. Maybe Weds. or Thursday nights.

This particular dog barking is not a new thing. It's been going on for at least a year that I've heard. -
I think that I'm hearing a different dog. The noise seemed to be more local, and in fact I would have guessed that the dog was in an apartment on either Plaza St. or Vanderbilt, not way over on Park Place.

last week when i was in the park walking for a few hours. this one dog and their owners. kept barking all the way where ever they walk to. it was strange, i never ever seen a dog act like that before. it never stop constantly barking at everything.Fight white guilt and injustice by smoking tax free guilt free Reservation Smokes or go gamble in a Native Casino.
I like to stick it to The Man, The Man happens to be Liberal in NYC(power Structure). -
Not sure if it's a new thing.. the windows had been closed for the winter, I do seem to remember hearing it bark last summer to. I think the owners may leave this dog alone for the entire weekend. Also, I am pretty sure that this dog is inside. It sounds like a smaller dog (wimpy bark). On that note, who heard the larger dog barking this morning at about 6 AM? Note sure where this one lives, perhaps Butler Place? I have heard this one on weekends to.. owner is probably to lazy to take the dog for a walk. It's really rude to your neighbors to leave your dog out there to bark, it's also not fair to the dog. We do have a dog, and when she is upset, we tend to her needs. We do not leave her unattended for the weekend & we never let her get so upset that it disturbs the neighbors. If only everybody was this curteous...

I'd say let's shoot the damn dog, but it's really the owner we should go after. Why make the dog suffer more than the owner has already made it suffer?I blame such comments on beer.

Yeah, shoot that fucker.

I don't know about that one, but I've been hearing one off and on for months now somewhere near prospect and st marks between carlton and flatbush. The barking started in the dead of winter late at night--like they forgot to let him in. Aside from annoying it's heartbreaking to hear it suffer like that.

This dog has been annoying the hell out of me the last couple days. Does anyone know if its terrible owners live at 375 Sterling? I called 311 but they wouldn't send a letter because I don't know the apartment number of the owners (not that a letter would probably do much anyway). -
i believe they own the building and other people in it are their tenants. at least that's what one tenant told me once when i went over to knock on their door. (she couldn't stand the barking either.) anyway, i've given the address as 375 sterling, or 375 sterling, ground floor."Here's a little tip I would like to relate: Many fish bites if you got good bait."

Cool, thanks. -
One has been barking in the backyards between Prospect and Park / Underhill and Washington (closer to Underhill and Prospect) from 6 pm (or before). I feel bad for the poor dog, but wish he would shut up already. I can hear him through my closed windows.

I had a dog barking nonstop under my bedroom window one Friday a couple weeks ago, from 8 pm to 3 am. NON STOP. Its owner just left it alone all night in a small courtyard to disturb 20 Apartments. It had a rude shelter but was obviously cold and hungry. The next day I asked people around the neighbourhood and also called 311. I called the ASPCA as well. People in the dog's building said they were feeding it and it sounded like a case of abandonment. Complain to 311 incessantly each time you are disturbed by the noise, and get others to complain as well. This seems to work. My problem has resolved itself (I hope!!!) I haven't seen the dog in the courtyard since. I did get a letter from the DEP and will hold onto it to refer to the complaint number if this happens again.

That's awful! What happened to the dog?Go do something useful. -
I don't know, but it sure isn't freezing its butt off and barking any more! If ASPCA did come take the animal, it wouldn't be the first time I had a dog removed from that building's basement/court area for neglect/abandonment. I couldn't imagine just dumping my dog like that. People are stupid.
