At the rate they are signing up new performances and shows, the new arena will be packed almost every night.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

It won't take me long to get over my feelings that that government money should not have been used, and the land should not have been almost given away.

I will totally go to these events more than I do MSG.

After all, they destroyed Penn Station for MSG. At least very little got destroyed this time.

I'm sure this won't affect parking in the neighborhood at all. Everyone will take mass transit.

I know we can't, but it would be nice if we could require that the giant parking lot be free.

Doing so would encourage cars in the short term, but ensure that the lots are built on in the long term. Sometimes short term chaos creates long term progress.

I will embrace the stadium. It will be fun to go to games and shows merely blocks from home.

wasn't there something on the table about perhaps giving local residents permits to park for free in the lots?

I don't think parking lots should be a problem if you live near the arena. For starters, why do you need a car in Brooklyn? Also, there's a lot of space surrounding the arena where Ratner promised all the non-arena things like affordable housing, retail and commercial space, etc. That is likely to become a parking lot/wasted space.

I own a car because we use it on weekends to leave the city. I use it to take the kids to school when we miss the school bus. Use it to go to places that isn't easy via public transit, like fairway in Red Hook. My wife travels around the tri-state area for work and needs a car. We have plenty of reasons to own a car in Brooklyn.
