I was wondering if anyone happened to see a car being towed at some point yesterday morning (Monday, Jan 12) some time between 7:30am and 12:30pm. It was parked in front of the on Sterling street right at Classon in a school zone (across from the church). My wife is a teacher there and forgot to put her teacher parking pass in the window. So we know it was parked illegally.

It has not turned up in any of the police lots....so they said it was likely stolen. But they said the system was down all yesterday morning. I have this sinking feeling that the police towed it and some bonehead forgot to enter it in the computer.

However, it is certainly possible that it was stolen. I just feel like it is possible that it was stolen by NYPD. Blue Honda Civic.

      Thanks.

see parts of the thread below...short of it and older threads seems to be don't trust calling and checking on a tow, go to the yard in person.

Your car is in the navy yard. It was towed at 10:45 am.
And that's the way it is.

      Subject: Car found

As expected, it was in fact in the navy yard. Some idiot entered my plate number wrong in the computer so they could never find it. I proposed this to them yesterday at the beginning of my 7 hour calling marathon, but they wouldn't hear of it.

It took me calling with a phone on each ear to get someone to actually listen to me and figure out if my car was ACTUALLY there. Unbelievable... Thanks for the thoughts and help.

      What a horribly incompetent organization.....
