Does anyone know why the Dean Playground was closed this afternoon?

All gates to both the field and the basketball court area have been chained shut, I'm guessing the parks department.

Thanks for the contact info.

Just got off the phone with the parks manager who's responsible for Dean Playground. He said that it was closed at the request of the NYPD because they had a tip about "possible gang activity" that was going to happen in the playground. It is should re-open tomorrow He didn't give me any more details.

Good on them for keeping an eye and listening to what's happening in the neighborhood. Sorry that it meant the playground was closed--that stinks.

Speaking of gang activity, I've noticed gang tags (or at least I think they're tags--what do I really know) at GAP. That's a first for me.
