It is nearing rebirth. Large counter on right side, and re-use seems to be food or bar related.
....Contractors onsite this evening, but I didn't get a chance to talk with them.
Anyone have any info on what is coming?

No - but I've been seeing the work over the last few days. Pretty excited since St. John's to Lincoln Place is all mobile phone shops and empty storefronts with the exception of Coffee Bites and Teddy's.

When was "Island Taste" last open .. like 10 years ago?
I have seen contractors in and out of this place the last couple of years or so .. good to hear something is finally going in there.
Isn't the barber shop next to it (Super
also now vacant?
The barber shop is definitely vacant, which is a shame, as I've been unable to find another place that I could get a shave and a haircut at for that price.
The video place with the trash inside is also long vacant.
...it should be interesting to see how this little strip of stores changes over the next year or so.

Since I posted this, a reliable source has informed me:
"A Sit down Chinese Restaurant"
Yes, Yes, yes!!!
Not a fan of Dragon House, the place that used to be Teddy's or Hood Hing on Underhill.
This place better be good!!!!
Now we need a bagel store around these parts and a pizza place that doesn't suck.
Sit down Pizza soon to open on Franklin.
Speaking of Seinfeld ... anyone catching the Louie show? Really, really good!
I also heard sports bar from some people who hang out on the corner of Lincoln.

Let's compromise.. instead of a sports bar or chinese restaurant we get a Thai Restaurant that has a small bar.
Doesn't Udom on Washington priced Thai with a small bar?
I continue to hope for Chinese food.
