      Hi all,

Thursday worked well last week - we had a great turn out, several happy hour newbies, and lots of anti-soda-waitstaff anger!

I've been assured that Carnivore will be there, so I think y'all should show up, too. I can't get there before 6:30 p.m. if work cooperates - but maybe someone else could get there sooner and snag a space outside (if it's warm and not raining) or some space in the back room.

In any case, I'll be there eventually. See y'all then!

um. oops. sorry about that. when the fiestas start on saturday at 3 p.m. and don't end til around 4 a.m., the chances of me being functional the next day are ... seriously low.

ahh, shit! I already know I'm gonna be late - an associate is leaving the firm on thurs. I'll be at soda asap, and I'll be *drunk*! ready to be taken advantage of (er, ok, I'm kinda bitch, but whatever).

so yeah, I'll be at soda 9ish. I'm expecting lots of sloshed folk. ish.

I did miss that, even though I was there, somehow I don't remember the night being quite so blurry or grainy... maybe I needed to drink more. humm....

on annother note it was quite fun, nice to meet some of the flesh n blood behind the typing, smiley faces and goofy avatars.

for future reference, or perhaps as a theme for the next happy hour, billyfleetwood reposted the 86 rules of boozing. I'm surprised at how few of these I follow:

So I got to Soda a bit early, sat down on the back patio, (I had no idea where the DH table was) and decided to eat to squelch my starvation. (OMG - the fish n' chips - delicious).

As the Daily Heights group grew bigger - and louder! - I sat and watched from my unsuspecting table going, "Do I really want to admit that I know these people?"

Ha! Actually, I was beat (from bike riding all day) and after I finished my meal (the blueberry beer was *so good*) I just went home and went to bed. I was too tired to be sociable, too exhuasted to smile, and too full of food and drink to laugh and gab.

But it seemed like you all were having fun!

Wait, were you sitting by the steps on the higher part of the patio? Made eye contact and smiled with the first loser to get there who was sitting alone wondering where the DH people were (that would be me)? Dang, you should have said hi!

shit it's like a whole new world over there... it was bizarre to be so close to home yet never having seen anything beyond Franklin.

Yep, that was me. Black hoodie, pony tail. I saw the smile. Then the hunger overtook me and I gulped down the fish n' chips.

    43. By the way, I owe a big public apology to Alafairnadia, who insisted that Jennifer Connelly had once been in a Dario Argento movie only to be repeatedly told to put down the crack pipe by me. No WAY was Jennifer Connelly ever in a Dario Argento movie! I was absolutely certain.

Yeah, turns out I was totally, totally wrong:
