Has anyone heard of a place on Flatbush called Happy Thai?

I distinctly remember finding a take out menu in my doorway Friday night but I couldn't find it Saturday afternoon and I couldn't find the restaurant where I thought the address was (at Sterling).

The reason I'm hedging a bit is, well, I'm that guy who goes looking for places he dreamed about. I once spent a week trying to find a store on 7th Avenue that had live chickens.

So tell me I got the address wrong or have me committed.

      Thanks.

Thanks. This is not to say I'm not crazy but at least now it's a group hallucination.

I just got a menu, too. The name of the place is Yummy Thai.

Yes, Yummy Thai. I associated it with Happy Taco but was probably thinking Yummy Taco. Anyway, now that I've got an exact address it's the sushi place just up from Sterling. The only indication is that they have a banner that says they now have Thai food.

      Thanks.

Seems they sell both Thai and Japanese at the same restaurant under two different names. I ordered Japanese from them when they first opened and thought it was pretty bad (very dry chicken with a thick sticky sweet teriyaki sauce devoid of flavor beyond salt and sugar, inoffensive sushi) so I doubt I'll take a try the Thai.

The sushi place one block North on the same side of Flatbush has also expanded into Thai. I got a Thai dish from them that tasted like it was from a can. It was served over yellow rice that seemed more Mexican than Thai.

Not a good trend, in my opinion.

Sushi Tatsu also serves pretty crappy Thai.

is "happy thai" (agreed -- the name is already a bad sign) part of haru sushi? and if so, does anyone know if they're related to haru sushi in manhattan? because they're quite good.
