I was wakened by the sound of helicopter(s?) flying very low and sounding like they were hovering over my house at 5AM. This is Vanderbilt Avenue between Prospect and St. Marks.....does anyone know what they were about? They hovered for about an hour and a half, I think......

http://gothamist.com/map/ on the unmapped section it reports "accident investigation" at 5:52 AM. Did you set your clocks back? ...it doesn't say where on St. Marks, and St. Marks is very long. But there is nothing else. For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

So those were news chopper(s)? What footage were they hoping for, exactly? RIP to the victim - she didn't make it, according to NY1. http://ny1.com/7-brooklyn-news-content/top_stories/108359/corrections-officer-fatally-strikes-pedestrian-in-brooklyn

They were soooo high up that I'm not sure if they were news choppers. I would imagine they'd come in closer if they were trying to get footage. Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that she didn't make it. So sad.
