I finally got a new bike to replace my old clunker and I'd love to take it for a spin tonight. Anyone up for a ride around the park tonight?

I was thinking of meeting at the GAP arch at 8:45pm and riding at 9pm.

I can't do tomorrow but maybe Wednesday.

I'm still up for tonight also if anyone wants to brave the heat. I just rode home from Bicycle Habitat in Soho and it wasn't bad at all.

Sweet! You should all come! It will be fun. Think how great Sepia would be after a loop or two around the park!

If I'm not sitting in a cool movie theater instead (which is the plan) I will be there.

Also, was just going to post about tomorrow's proposed ride:

Red Hook Ballfields for a free concert of ***80s flash!!!!*** Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam?

Well..I don't have a shiny new bike like you do! So in that case beer wins for me.

Which is not to say that I couldn't do it later, or on Wednesday.

You mean later tonight? I could do that. What time?

Is that ok for everyone else?

No, don't move this for me. Remember, there will be beer involved. I can't guarantee anything after that.

      Time will tell.

I have the same thought, and plan to ride three loops everyday until I'm employed again.

So far I'm done it 5 out of the 7 possible days.

It was, as usual, lots of fun. Carni's new bike is fab - and those smooth skinny tires made him roll fast!

This seems to be a biking thread so... recommendations for a place to get a first-in-a-long-time-will-need-lots-of-advice bike?

Also figured I might ask you guys because this sounds fun! And would love to join in on future ones.

      Thanks!

Congrats on the new bike Carni. I hope to make a ride one of these days/nights.

Embereye..The Mr. & Mrs. at Mr. C's cycles in Sunset Park are very helpful and at Roy's (Sheepshead Bay area) they will take time to make sure the bike fits you properly.

Do it earlier in the day (7PM?) so those of us who have to get up at ungodly hours can join!

I got mine at Bicycle Habitat on Lafayette in Soho and I liked the place a lot.

MB- Earlier is too hot and too crowded! We already have been going much earlier than the original midnight rides (still the best time IMO).

Crappus maximus, I replied 30 minutes ago that I would come along (evidently that went nowhere) and now I can't do it. 10pm would work better for me. Nevermind, I'll join you tomorrow. That's a promise.

yes, we will see how the weather looks at around 8:30, then decide whether 9 or 10 is a good idea.

...or weather to skip the ride and just go get a beer
