So what is up with the guy who is doing this? Does he live in one of those houses? I don't think I would be thrilled with this if I lived on Park Place, but he's not really hurting anything, and he's keeping an eye on the street in his own way.

don't know but i'm looking for a good craigslist GPS app so when I am going to stoop sales I have it instantly mapped out based on my location
i'm not sure that garagesalerover.com is the way to go...
perhaps ultimately craigslist would have to publish such an app if it were to be comprehensive -
I believe one of the homeowners lets him use his stoop to sell stuff and earn pocket money. He's a nice enough man, and I certainly haven't heard anything bad about him. I actually like some of the stuff he has.

Yes, this guy is pretty friendly and harmless. I've seen him redeeming cans in the past, so I believe this is now his main schtick. I've never seen him make a sale, which just might stem from his wares: VHS tapes, LP records, and other items gleaned from trash heaps. But that's what makes NYC great: everyone's a small businessman at heart!
