Hi! Long-time lurker, first time poster. I love finding out about new places opening from this forum, so I thought I'd share the intel I just gathered. Walked by a soon-to-open coffee shop on Washington between St. Marks and Prospect Place tonight (between Minor Arcana and BCake). The windows are still covered with paper but the door was open and people were inside watching something on a large screen. The picture I snapped is blurry - but the place looks spacious. There's a series of two tops then a few more tables on a raised platform at the back. There's a big sign on the wall of all the fresh beans and roasts, and some empty display cases on the counter that may one day hold pastries and sandwiches. A lot of fancy coffee equipment, too, from what i could see. I asked a man standing outside about the owner and he pointed to a man inside - the place was filled with black families and the owner is black as well, which will hopefully make the place a nice counter-point to sit and wonder. Asked when he thought they'd open, he shrugged and said maybe a few months. I hope it's sooner!

Isn't this the same block as Sit and Wonder? Interesting choice of location.

If that's the place I'm thinking of, it's been a coffee shop in the works for the better part of a decade. The signs have been up in there for a looooooong time.
