Believe it or not, I don't think that number is low when compared with other urban areas.
I would love to see an analysis of the ratio of homeowners to property lots. Based on my completely unscientific analysis, I'd bet that much of CH/PH is owned by a relatively small group.

Homeowner, removing co-ops and condos from the mix, I think you're right. At least if my completely unscientific observations are accurate....
I'm not surprised. I could easily rent my apartment (I own it, well the bank and me..) for at least as much as the cost of my monthly mortgage payment and maintenance. Apartment upstairs owned by nice couple who live in Orlando, not costing them a penny.
