Hi neighbors! Thanks to our fair city's bewildering (to us) block party permitting process, the St. Marks Ave Block Association secured a permit on Monday afternoon for a party tomorrow! The city is pretty quiet this weekend, so we figured...why not?
And thus we are having a FLASH BASH - not much planning, not too many expectations! St. Marks Ave between Carlton and Vanderbilt, August 4 from 11am(ish) to 5(ish).
A bunch of folks, grownups and kids, will be hanging out, making whatever mischief takes 4 workdays or less to plan! There will be a "free riding" area for kids and their wheeled conveyances, a kimchee making demonstration (at noon, with this guy!: http://brooklynian.com/forum/prospect-heights/kimcheelicious-wrap-a-dumpling-workshop) hot dogs, lemonade, bubbles & chalk, a stoop sale or two, and the fire hydrant will be on! Musical chairs and a bit of music by Nelson Serieux around 4 to close out the day.
