Hello, I'm Eustace Greaves, an insurance broker and income tax preparer located at 651 Bergen Street, near Vanderbilt Avenue. Some obviously deranged theif stole my office banner sign from the fence outside my office at 651 Bergen Street sometime between 5pm Saturday and 3:30pm Sunday. If anyone witnessed this degenerate in action, please call me at 718-783-2722, or call the 77th Precinct. And if you videoed or photographed this act of vandalism, well, even better.

A picture of the sign is attached to this post.

      Thank you.

I am sorry about the loss of your banner.

Given the large number of drunken people on Vanderbilt during the weekend overnight hours, I suspect your banner has become a trophy commemorating a fun night.

You may want to take it in on weekend nights. The arena crowds may be similarly attracted to it...

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.

Well, they say everything old is new again. Luckily, I didn't dispose of the sign I originally attached to the fence.

Since I believe in karma, I pity the offspring of this degenerate and/or whoever hired them. You know what they say, the sins of the father shall be visited upon...

I'd like to thank the officers of the 77th Precinct who responded quickly and took a report. Thanks again.

      Hi Eustace,
I think someone took the sign to use the back side to make their own sign. Check out a business owner just starting out instead of a degenerate. Both are the same
      (degenerate/business owner thief).
      Good luck

      Was the sign insured?

      Hello Steveo:

No, it wasn't insured as it was made at cost for me by a former friend. The average cost of signs / banners like these is usually much less than the company's policy deductible. And that's even if they have sign coverage, which is usually for your more elaborate signage. And I can tell you, too many small businesses only purchase the liability coverage they need to satisfy the requirements of their leases. Many do not even own coverage to replace their busines property (desks, filing cabinets, rugs, etc.)due to cost, or their broker not informing them to purchase same.

I guess it's more the sense of one's personal / business space being violated for what I can imagine is some deranged reason.

Thanks for the question, and I hope all of the merchants in Prospect Heights with roll-out awnings, fancy canopies and the like have glass and sign coverage in their company policies. Call your insurance broker and ask for a policy review.

      Hello Dorothy:

Normally I would have thought your idea a good one except for clear evidence that about half of the bottom strip ties weren't even cut, indicating the use of a tool to cut through the grommets.

Give me a call at the office, 718-783-2722, and I'll bring you up to date on the family.

Bummer dude. I guess some people just don't stop to think about the real consequences of what was probably a joke to tem.
