At some point, some woman who has just left the new fancy tea and flower place, and some guy who has just left the new cigar lounge will go the NSA supermarket.

They will meet in line. Complement each other, exchange emails, date for a few months, become fascinated with each others differences and then decide to just share one apartment instead of maintaining two.

      Hey, it could happen.

Here's more info on this effort from the Wash Ave Merchants Association:

Commercial rents for spaces on Washington and Franklin avenues — which range from 500 to 1,500 square feet and rent for between $2,500 and $5,000, she said — are a tempting opportunity for retail establishments on much more expensive commercial corridors such as Smith and Court streets, where rents for comparably sized spaces can go for almost double those amounts.

And it’s exactly those types of businesses that Oton and other economic movers and shakers in the neighborhood hope to lure.

Where's that comic book store Homeowner wanted? Yup.

Might as well try to convince Fish Tails on Court to open up here as well! Paisanos willing to open a place here?

Today (April 3rd), one can also talk to the folks who work for HOB and then literally "stick" what kind of business you would like on Washington Ave to the plywood located at St. Johns and Washington.

      I kid you not.

A reliable source tells me a local merchant is looking at 810 Washington (the big grey storefront on the corner of St Johns shown above) for a new Venezuelan restaurant.

      Interior shown below...

Nice to see all the stickers have come off the wall and are now littering the side walk. Thanks for making a mess of my neighborhood Heart of Brooklyn.

I do hope businesses buy the pitch.

It would suck to be left with a lot of surveys and a sticker filled sidewalk after all that effort.

Here are the preliminary results of the survey, complete with percentages:

Hopefully several of these ideas are believed to be profitable, to the degree that someone with the resources and drive to open it ....does!

I would like to see a butcher/Sahadi's/yummy things/cooking stuff store, like a Zabar's type place. Prime (ha) focus would be butcher, with a few more things to draw in people. I could not find a barding needle in Brooklyn a few years ago!

Great! More stickers that will litter the sidewalk. Thanks Heart of Brooklyn for messing up the hood.

      God-
April 30th was the last day for Heart of Brooklyn.

...they were funded to improve the area around the Brooklyn Museum, the Children's Museum, and the Library.

Thanks to their work, and the gentrification that was swept all of West Brooklyn, they can no longer get funding to attract businesses and throw events for these areas.

The final round of stickers that will come off and litter the sidewalk are a send off...
