It sounds rather like the old joke about the guy asking for directions and being told "well, I wouldn't start from here".

Why do they always schedule this sort of thing at a time when they know most of us are at work?
-
Perhaps these days because they expect the blogosphere will broadcast it every which way possible and so it hardly matters when the actual event takes place. Or wait, that would imply thinking. Okay, I'll fall back to whenever it suits them.
Speaking of which, I wonder if there will be any video highlights posted anywhere, and am curious to see the various ways this is covered out there.i extend my battery life by turning down the brightness -
maybe because they are at work by testifying? and i doubt they want to give up their friday night for work. this isn't an open forum, right? it's not for the public to speak at. so it's during the work day because they're at work. i assume.

I went to the hearing today with my 9 month-old baby. The pro-Ratner union guys were out in front with bullhorns and whistles. Since there was a line to get in, I asked them politely to be quieter for the sake of my baby. They responded with more whistles, bullhorns and added in some insults to boot. I have no problem with harsh arguments, but I am am angry about callous and harmful actions threatening my girl.

Really makes me love the project even more. Gag. Nothing like a bullhorn in a baby's face to get your point across. Especially when your point bulldozed homes and displaced residents by the dozen. Hope your little one's not too traumatized, raulism. At least she's too young to understand the social ramifications of Atlantic Yards... the blasts from the bullhorn won't scar her nearly as much as that would have.Be the change you want to see in the... neighborhood. -
I have calmed down a little bit, and if anyone was traumatized, it was me. Charlotte seemed to have enjoyed the meeting more than anyone there, though not as much as she enjoys sweet potatoes being grated: Also, congrats to Karl the Druid for top billing on NLG!
