They can probably direct you best, they may ask you to help with the rescue efforts and as part of that to take their free TNR course so that you can learn what to do in the future if this happens again (which is will in Bed-Stuy as I lived there 3 years and rescued 20+ cats and kittens from a 1 block area without looking for them; ie they turned up in my yard, on my doorstep and were given to me by neighborhood kids who found them).

Anyway the class will also hook you up with rescuers all over NYC so it will give you the connections you need to be able to tackle this yourself next time.

Their classes are free but their Brooklyn class already went by but there is one up at the ASPCA later in the month. But in the meantime you and this kitten need help NOW so here's what we can do to get the ball rolling.

Send me a PM and I will give you the email for someone within NC who can actually help you - you just tell her I sent you and that you are willing to take the class at a later date and that this kitten needs help.

There is a cat rescue located in Manhattan Union Square that have helped me last year with a a kitten that I was fostering for them. The poor baby was dying dehydrated, I took him there and a woman called Dawn was able to find what was wrong with him, gave me all the antibiotics I needed and the kitten survived [I ended up adopting him]. I can talk to her and ask if she can assist your kitten. They would be able to provide you all the meds, and the best part: probably at low cost [they are a rescue organization, I guess they would charge you for the meds at the same price they pay the vet who sell them -- at low cost].

Let me know any thoughts about it. I would e-mail this woman as soon as you gives me an answer.

There are many rescuers who may be able to help trap both kittens and TNR the adults but I need more exact info about your cross-streets and whether there is access to the yard for trapping as it may take several days to catch the right kitten. Are they being fed or eating scraps and garbage - are they feral, stray or do they belong to someone - are they friendly or frightened???

If the kitten has an injured paw could be anything but the eye is more serious as without treatment could go blind.

I am Jenny but no longer run Ghetta Kitty Rescue. However, I may be able to try to help you trap the kitten(s) who is injured and take to the vet. Do you have a contact phone number?
