Ask local rescue groups if they would mind doing a courtesy post on their websites and petfinder. You've done more than most and I know that cat appreciates it.

I found him in Park Slope, Brooklyn on the 12/10 hiding under a car right outside my apartment. He was very hungry and scared. He was also quite dirty from living on the street but now that he's inside, he's cleaning himself up nicely.

I took him to my vet. He doesn't have a microchip and my efforts to find his former owners haven't worked out so far. He's been displaying perfect litter box habits. Currently, he's stuck in my tiny bathroom because my cat does not like sharing her space. He's quite friendly, gentle and not at all shy.

There is an animal shelter in Ozone Park, Queens called Heaven’s Angels Animal Rescue (97-14 Liberty Ave) (under the L train).

It's run by a couple who suffered terrible flooding and personal loss during the storm and most of their volunteers at the shelter have been indisposed since the storm. They have 100+ dogs & cats under their care and desperately need help with walking dogs, socializing cats, feeding, cleaning, organizing, fundraising, etc.. until their volunteer staff is re-organized. They also need adopters and foster care for the many loveable pets especially the fearful Chihuahua’s that have been hard to place. If you or anyone you know can help in any way (volunteering, donation or otherwise), please reach out to them directly by email at atharescue1@aol.com (alternatively you may send a text message to 347-722-5939) *They especially needs hands on deck to help walk and care for the large number of animals at the shelter.

Contact: LittleMiraclesRR@aol.com or 856-2100-6028

Little Miracles Rabbit Rescue Inc is a NJ non-profit animal shelter. Saving lives since January of 2000, LMRR has placed thousands of animals into loving forever homes.

In addition they offer education, advocacy, rehabilitation and hospice care.

They are in the process of rescuing 35 abused bunnies from a barn, finishing construction to expand their facilities, as well as build a medical center.

As part of this they have set up a work day on June 9th where they need volunteers to help out.

If you can't make it there you can still help as they need donations to reach their goals so they can continue to educate, advocate, and save lives. They are offering Memorial Stepping Stones for the garden or 3x5 Brass Plates which will go on the Kennels for donors.

Here are the links on the group and where you can help! Please share widely, time is running out for their projects to get completed and the barn bunnies need somewhere to go when they are rescued.
