yes, I must say I was quite disappointed when I realized that the OP's clothes were left in a Duane Reade bag while shopping on 5th Avenue. This thread would have been much better had she lost them early Saturday morning in the bathroom of <a href="http://www.unionhallny.com/home.php">Union Hall.</a>, or if she swore she was straight yet somehow lost them in <a href="http://www.gingersbarbklyn.com/">Gingers</a>.

I might just indulge you even tho you know I don't like you but only because this place has been boring as hell lately unless you live in Crown Heights. Remember when PH had the most action? Then PS, now it's CH. Boo. Although my fave Board member does live there. A quick search reveals at least ONE appeal to south slopers to find my dangly red earring.... I never found it. I wore its partner just the other day all by its lonesome. Effing snarky responses welcome. Will SOMEONE PUH-LEASE liven up this joint?

That sucks! I lose my clothes and earrings ALL the time but the bars and random strangers never seem to find them. I hope you find yours. Def check that tiny vintage shop on like 14th or so on the east side. Sounds like stuff they would buy.

Hello everyone, I was in Park Slope yesterday and I lost a bag of my best clothes that I was going to get tailored. I am distraught over it. The clothes were in a white garbage bag that was INSIDE one of those big Duane Reade Bags. There are two fancy dresses in it, a black sweater, a beautiful black vest with cream stripes, and an embroidered belt from Romania. I don't know how I lost it. I've been super stressed, and I had a ton of errands to run, now it's gone. I lost it somewhere on the stretch of 5th Ave from 9th to Prospect Ave. I went back into every business I visited on that block, and they all said they didn't have it. If anyone out there finds it, PLEASE contact me. I will even give a reward. The belt and the vest are the things that matter the most to me, as they are irreplaceable. THank you. P.S. This is my first time posting to a message board ever. How will I get responses if anyone has any leads? Through the email that I signed up with?

Thanks for correcting me, Carmen! I did notice that the tag read "made in Thailand' after i posted yesterday. Oops. Still. It's not China. I love it when I find well made clothes that last and last. I got the best "sweat suit" from a boutique on 5th ave about 5 years ago and it has held up so nicely. I get compliments on the top all the time because it's hooded and has nicely detailed seams. I have already started to mourn the fact that it will one day need to be retired. Maybe I'll find something at AC to replace it.

ha I'm wearing one of my dresses from there right now. Its 3-4 years old and I always get compliments on it when I wear it. I don't think that they make their clothes in-house, though. I know that the fabrics are made in thailand and I think the clothes are made there as well. I have spoken in length with one of the owners about her initiates to support female-owned small businesses, and her values seem to be in check so you're probably safe even if the stuff is made overseas. Plus, they don't really mass produce so I highly doubt they would "need" to use sweatshop labor. The owner who I met is super nice, and I've been thrilled with the quality of the garments I have from them- everything has been washed and dried for many years and still look great, all seams in-tact.

Hey y'all! I just want to put in a good word for the artists at Animated Closet. I have no affiliation with them. Honest. I ran in today because I needed a pair of work-out shorts (it's a long story). I got what I needed -- and found out that they design their own fabric and make their own clothes! Locally made workout clothes! Excellent. I'm on an boycott China kick and have been trying to buy all made in US clothes and shoes. It's hard. But worth it. Anyway, I had no idea they made their own stuff. I'll go back to see what else they had. I was a little focused and rushed today so I don't know what else is in the store.

Hey guys, full disclosure here, I work on the website for <a href="http://www.casualmale.com/">Casual Male XL</a> and I saw this thread. I just wanted to say that they do have some pretty nice name brand clothing, so if you're really tall or wide, they are worth checking out (especially when they have sales). There is one in Fort Hamilton, Mill Basin and one near Canarsie. So while I am indirectly employed by them, I've been on their website enough to know they have good stuff for their target clientele.

There are a few really nice men's clothing stores on fulton st close to jay st. I forget the names but you can tell which ones they are because they have nice suits and shoes and hats in the windows. You cant miss them.
