There are many places to go for brunch or dinner but Melt on bergen street <a href="http://www.meltnyc.com" rel="nofollow">http://www.meltnyc.com</a> is offering a Free glass of champagne to all moms for brunch and for dinner, moms entree is 1/2 off. When you have a family of 6 or more, its hard to find a restaurant that will have a table ready for a big group. There is rarely a wait on tables for large groups at 8pm during the week. Since it is located near the 2/3 bergen street train stop and 2 blocks from Barclays Center, it is a great meeting spot for drinks at the bar especially during happy hour.

The children will enjoy educational and interactive reading about saving the planet, conserving water, planting a seed to take home, face painting and a drawing contest as well! "How I can help to save the Earth" drawing contest will be judged at the end of the day for a prize of one week of summer camp. "FasTracKids / Eye Level" members will pay $1.00 entrance fee and non-members are urged to pay $3.00. We will be giving out huge discounts all day on all of our programs. Snacks will also be served. HCX | Haiti Film Fest 2013 will include the opening night celebration, an emerging filmmakers event and two full days of free films. In anticipation for HCX | Haiti Film Fest 2013, May 9 – 12, Haiti Cultural Exchange is hosting several free pre-season film screenings in different locations in New York. April 6th-Le President a-t-il le SIDA? with special guest Jimmy Jean-Louis Le President a-t-il le SIDA? follows the story of Dao (played by Jimmy Jean-Louis), a popular musician leading a life full of sex and drugs. His life changes when he meets 23 year old Nina (Jessica Généus) and falls in love. But his new relationship is jeopardized when he learns that he has AIDS. This film by Haitian filmmaker Arnold Antonin will be in French & Creole with English subtitles. Haitian actor and former NBC “Heroes” star Jimmy Jean-Louis will be joining us to talk about the film and his work with Hollywood Unites for Haiti. THE GLORY OF BROOKLYN: AN ARTISTIC AND LITERARY EVENING AT THE CARROLL GARDENS LIBRARY FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Transcendent photographs. Evocative essays. Haunting watercolor paintings. No matter the medium, the sentiment of respect clearly shines through in the art and writings of a talented trio – Thomas Rupolo; Joan Marans Dim; and Antonio Masi, who will present their works in an entertaining evening at the Carroll Gardens Library, Tuesday March 19, 7 to 9 p.m. Carroll Gardens resident Joan Marans Dim, an essayist and historian, and New York City artist Antonio Masi will discuss their book New York's Golden Age of Bridges. With a visual presentation focused on the four bridges of Brooklyn – the Brooklyn, Manhattan Bridge Williamsburg and the Verrazano-Narrows -- the discussion will “span” the bridges’ artistic and cultural underpinnings, and their impact nationally as well as worldwide. Bridges form connections over water, and many area residents feel a strong connection to the nearby waterfront community of Red Hook. Photographer Thomas Rupolo will explore the “lost continent” of Red Hook, where “even cabbies can’t find their way” in a presentation of photos as bright and vibrant as the people who live there, as featured in his book Images of Red Hook. This event is the latest in a series of artistic and literary evenings hosted by the Friends of the Carroll Gardens Library, offering free refreshments of wine and cheese. ABOUT ANTONIO MASI: Antonio Masi, fascinated by bridges since childhood, began painting them a decade ago. Masi has won national and global acclaim for his paintings of New York City bridges. ABOUT JOAN MARANS DIM: Joan Dim is co-author of The Miracle on Washington Square: New York University and the author of the novel Recollections of a Rotten Kid. She has traveled the bridges of New York City all her life and is a proud Carroll Gardens resident. ABOUT THOMAS RUPOLO: Tom Rupolo has been living in and around Red Hook for 15 years.
