Are these kittens still looking for a home? If so, I'd be very interested in adopting the top one. Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Female kittens can be fixed as young as 8wks or 2lbs in weight. Once the mother is through nursing she should also be fixed. The kittens can get their first FVRCP jabs at 8wks of age but they may want to wait to give them their rabies jabs, depends on the vet.

Please do not adopt them out without charging at least a nominal fee as this will attract bunchers, dealers, collectors and gift givers who think a kitten is a fun present but do not understand the lifelong commitment required. $25 minimum but if they have seen a vet, who will usually charge a discount for a group of kittens, $50 is acceptable.

If you would like information on low cost vets in your area let me know.

Generally it is better to adopt kittens this young in pairs or to another home with a young, playful, friendly animal (cat or dog). Introducing a kitten into a home with an older animal can cause quite a bit of stress to that senior animal as the kitten will want to play constantly and that stress can lead to illness down the road (been there done that).

As they are so young they will still need socialization to learn not to do some of the strange behaviors people complain about with single cats who are not raised with other cats. Such as climbing up their legs, pouncing on their heads, biting, suckling, etc. They learn not to do these things from other cats; for as much as one might love them we are not cats and cannot teach appropriate behavior the way another cat can. This is why adopting in pairs or with another young animal is preferential to the long term well being of the kitten and the success of the future adoption.

Lastly should an adoption not work out be prepared to take the kitten back, even up to a year later as some people love them when they are little but once they are older suddenly they are too much work or life circumstances change and they cannot keep them as they did not think long term when adopting. Make sure anyone you adopt to understand this or these kittens may wind up in the city shelter where they have little to no chance of adoption.

She would always be there alone, at night... my roommate and I fed her for several months, and when it started getting colder, and hurricane Sandy was approaching, we finally took her in. She turned out to be the smartest and nicest cat I have ever met, and.. pregnant! She gave birth to 4 beautiful kitties. They are now 6 weeks old. And though they are so cute and smart, we can not keep them in our small apartment. We are keeping mom cat of course. One kitten has already been adopted by my friend. And 3 girls left. They are looking for a good loving home, they will bring you a lot of joy!

This little crazy ball of fur has a LOT of energy. She likes to play most of all. She is very fun!

This kitty is also playful, plus she is very very smart. She was the first to learn how to go to a litter box. And then showed her sisters how to. I bet you can teach her some tricks.

Also please consider charging at least a small adoption fee to ward off dealers, bunchers, collectors and dog baiters. They will promise the kittens a good life but condemn them to being lab experiments, living in overcrowded filthy conditions and being used in dog fighting. Yes, this is a real problem especially in Brooklyn.

If you are already TNR certified then you can use the ASPCA services and Toby Project Rescuers van.

However if not here is the link for the public ASPCA Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic - they will also give Rabies shots which are required by law: http://www.aspca.org/aspca-nyc/mobileclinic/

and here is the link for the public Toby Project Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic: http://www.tobyproject.org/van_calendar

Please know that hundreds of kittens are euthanized at the City Shelter every year due to gross pet overpopulation and for every litter born a litter is killed as their are not enough adopters as it is. Getting them fixed before adoption will help put and end to this cycle.

Please also make sure this is the last litter for this mother by getting her Spay as soon as the kittens are weaned or if she is a feral TNR'ing her.

She had to go to the Vets out in New Hyde Park 2 weeks ago to have an eye removed.
what happened was that she had to stay there to heal and one of the ladies that works there simply fell in love with her. Helen became a special pet of the people there and this lady has asked to adopt her!! Helen will be living in a very nice home in Long Island and the lady has 2 other cats and a dog already so Helen will have friends to play with and a loving home to live in! I can't tell you all how happy I am that she is going to be fine!
Everyone thought no one would want to adopt her and she turns out to be the first one adopted!
Well, good things do happen!

I haven't tried to list them anywhere. I figured no one would be interested. Helen has been in the Vet hospital since last Thursday. she had an operation on one of her eyes. I think they had to remove it. her other eye, the left one, looks like it is deflated. Been that way since birth. I think she can sense light with it though. We have noticed that she would sit on the floor around 7;30 every morning right where the sunlight comes in and she would try to reach up to the light to touch it. She does that every morning and really enjoys it a lot.
She also will sit directly in front of the TV and she stares at the screen for long periods at a time. I am sure she sees something. Her head moves right and left following the bright light and dark spots.
I am just worried that the vets may have removed that eye as well. I am sick with worry over this.
Jackie has a good right eye and she is very brave. Bravest of them all. Not afraid of anything. Only thing is, when she wakes up and does not see my husband she cries and runs straight for him and climbs into his lap. She does that every time, She runs to one of us as soon as she wakes for assurance then she becomes brave for the rest of the time. I guess she is going to be part of the family unless someone adopts her. She loves to explore and loves to eat!! Very healthy, very curious and very loving. My husband said she is good luck because she has 4 white feet. That is what they say about horses so maybe it holds true for cats. Well, we bought some powerball tickets, we'll find out one of these days!
anyway, Helen and Jackie will always have a home with us no matter what because they are so loving and fun. I am missing Helen right now because she loves to play and she would always climb up on our pillows and go to sleep curled up between my head and my husbands. My husband named her Helen after Helen Keller.
We have been told that since Helen is blind only really loving and understanding people would want to adopt her and frankly I am very worried about just giving her to anyone that comes along. I don't know what to do.
None of the shelters take in cats with disabilites. They put them to sleep. They just don't tell you that stuff. ACT is better than the rest but even they say it is a hard reality that you have to face. They would rather find a home for Helen and only suggested putting her to sleep because they have seen our living situation but my husband just will not allow it.
The big problem is we have no space at all. (225 sq ft of floor space!) and we have Fred, He has been as good as can be through all this but it shows that he is unhappy with not being able to climb into the window to look out or any of the other spots he always used because the kittens have taken them over.
Their momma went into the shelter to be spayed and get her shots then they brought her back and she stayed here for about 9 days mending.
We let the momma cat go back outside yesterday,Saturday morning. she came by the window last night around 9;30 to be fed but she left right after eating. I guess that is just nature.
I really feel terrible about her because she was a perfect mother and had all her instincts working right. But she would not become tame and simply could not be handled at all. It was an extremely difficult situation for us. My husband usually dealt with her. he seems to have some sort of sense or know how and the momma cat responded.
it was peculiar but I figured she would become very mild tempered after being fixed. Instead she became meaner than ever and the main reason she only stayed here 9 days getting over her operation was that she attacked the kittens ferociously. My husband said that was it, enough.
he kept her in the bedroom for 2 more days to make sure she was okay then he opened the window yesterday morning just after 6AM. She sat there for a few minutes then she went out and walked away. he goes out to keep an eye on her. she actually comes when he calls but does not come close, just seems to show up to say 'here I am' then she goes off again.
The past 3 1/2 months living with her have been a real education for us.
We were astonished to learn that she made very distinct different sounds and they meant specific things to the kittens.
She made a sound. mmmmm, that meant come to me so I can count heads and they would come to her briefly to show themselves before going off to roam and play.
she made another similar but definitely different sound that, believe it or not, sounded like the word milk!! Sort of mmmilkkkk. and the kittens would run to her for feeding! Just amazing!
They really have a language. How do they know this?
she made a sound that would make them all stop in their spots and calm down and some other sounds as well and they just knew!
Well, if anyone has any ideas for finding a home for Helen or Jackie, I mean a home that will understand that Helen can't see, she can fall just by walking off a windowsill or things like that, I would appreciate it if you posted it here.
The 2 other kittens are fine and they will be going to the shelter when space becomes available.
The shelter has someone coming to look at Graycie today possibly. A couple is very interested in her. Just a problem of scheduling.
Graycie (we spelled it that way because she is gray!)
The other one is jerry, (Jericho) but my husband has starting calling her Chi Chi the Chihuahua cat because she looks exactly like a Chihuahua. She is as skinny as a Chihuahua and has the same build.
Jerry is amazing. Most quiet, pleasant, disposition of any cat ever. She likes it when we hold her to pet her but only for a minute then she has to be free. But she will follow us like a puppy dog. walking in and around our feet. She follows my husband everywhere constantly. he calls her his shadow. She likes to stretch out and snooze on the cool tile floor in the bathroom or on a blanket on the bed we have for the cats.Believe me, you need some sort of blanket on the bed to protect it from the cats!!
She almost never makes a sound. I probably would be alarmed if she did make a sound. She acts like a mature cat, very grown up, just seems to know what to do all the time.
she enjoys laying on the couch next to me when I watch TV. She stretches out and naps. We have a blanket for that as well!
I do think she is very insecure, she jumps if you touch her by surprise. Definitely afraid off the vacuum, blender and other noisy things. The complete opposite of Jackie. She just likes to be with you to know you are there and she feels safe.
She loves to play with toys, especially when my husband rolls up a Liptons tea bag paper cover and throws it to her. They all go crazy over it. he thinks something in the tea attracts them. But Jerry will get a good bite on it and runs back and fourth with the other kittens chasing her to take it from her. They all seem to enjoy this a lot.
It is an exciting kitty football game to see.
We have loads of toys for them from the stores but the tea bag paper is their favorite.
Well, if anyone has any ideas please post them for me!
Thanks

Note HOPE is shown with 2 of her other sisters, Helen and Jackie. They are not up for adoption through ACT as Helen is blind in both eyes and Jackie(black with white feet) is blind in one eye. It seems no one wants blind kittens so the shelter does not want to take them in.
I have 2 other kittens but they cannot be taken by the shelter until there is room. They are currently filled up.
Faith is now on their web site here>

Hi!
I am looking for someone nice to adopt my kittens, Fluffy and Hope. Fluffy and Hope are two of six kittens born under my bed this past April. Their mother is a wild feral cat that came through my window and ran under our bed. She gave birth to six kittens.
I have been going through a lot in order to make sure the kittens and their mother are taken care of. All of the kittens are tame and a joy to play with. I am trying to find homes for them. I am being helped by Animals Can't Talk based in Bayside, Queens.
Fluffy and Hope have been taken to their shelter in Bayside the other day and they have been spayed and received all her shots. They will have the vet papers for you.
I cannot keep them because I live in a small basement apartment and we already have a cat, Fred, who is a 6 year old male. He has been wonderful through all this but he really feels put out by their presence and is having some problems because of it.
Animals Can't Talk is taking care of all the Vet things for us and they have been very helpful in a lot of ways. They are a volunteer group but they are incorporated as a Not for Profit organization.
Fluffy is a rather special little kitty because she is extremely delicate. She loves to curl up beside me and sit quietly. She enjoys playing with her sister and also likes to sit in the window. She is very quiet. We named her Fluffy because she is simply a ball of fluff when you pick her up!
I gave them baths every week and they both enjoy it. Fluffy especially liked them and learned to go into the shower after I used it and she would roll in the water to wet herself. I think she does this because she learned that she felt cool afterwards. I am sure she would love air conditioning! If you continue to bathe them every week or even every two weeks they will enjoy it when they are older and it is really good for them and you if you bathe them.
Hope (Tiger) is a very gentle kitty and she loves to explore and play. She watches everything and learns very quickly. She enjoyed sitting next to me and watching television by the hour. She loves milk and drank at least two quarts a week, more than all her sisters put together. when she was born she was extremely dark brown and she seemed to have a hundred stripes on her so we named her Tiger not knowing she was a girl. She has become so pretty now and I cannot tell you how much I am going to miss her.
ACT told us when they were picking her up that she was a girl and they decided to change her name to Hope. They also have changed Fluffy's name to Faith because they think it will be more attractive to anyone wanting to adopt her. But I can only think of her as Fluffy.
So remember Fluffy is now called Faith and Tiger's new name is Hope!
I am hoping that someone very nice would want to adopt them together so they could stay together because they get along extremely well. It would make it a lot easier than having to entertain either of them all day long! I think it would be best if there are no very young children as Fluffy is so delicate and I would worry about them handling her roughly.
Please contact Lisa at animalscanttalk@aol.com if you are interested. There is an adoption fee (I think its about $65 to $90 for each kitten but not sure exactly) and they do screen people to make sure the kittens will be in good hands.
Let her know you are interested.
