Often I talk to people who got mugged the night before and then wonder why the police dont care, well its because they have practically no chance to catch the perp or see him on the street because its another day and the evidence is gone with no chance for an arrest. My fiance was inappropriately groped at a massage place on 7th ave in Park Slope. To make a long story short, we both left feeling like our first ever trip to report something to the police was the WRONG thing to do, even if we knew it was supposed to be right. These have even occurred in broad daylight. Obviously, this is very concerning for everyone in the community, and likely especially for women walking alone. </p> <p>So...Wanting to pass the information along so that the community can be as safe and aware as possible...but also wondering if folks might have some ideas about what might be possible in order to get some regular police-presence /foot-patrol on Classon where there are fewer businesses (and therefore fewer eyes monitoring the street activities), and therefore where robbers apparently feel they are less likely to be seen and caught victimizing someone. </p> <p>Below are a couple of the links to the recent stories noted by the PHP, and each of these also provides a bit of information on other recent similarly unfortunate street-robbery events nearby.
