The series has received rave reviews in major literary publications, including The New York Times Book Review, the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Times Literary Supplement, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and the San Francisco Chronicle. Spurious won 3:AM's Best Novel of 2011 award, was a finalist for The Guardian Not the Booker prize, and was shortlisted for The Believer award. Dogma was listed as one of The Observer's Books of the Year. He has also written two scholarly books on the work of Maurice Blanchot and teaches philosophy at Newcastle University, UK.</p> <p>KAROLINA WACLAWIAK is the author of the novel How to Get Into the Twin Palms. She received her MFA in fiction from Columbia University. The Deputy Editor of The Believer, she lives and writes in Brooklyn.</p> <p>TIM HORVATH is the author of the short story collection Understories, named a Favorite Story Collection of 2012 by Largehearted Boy. He teaches creative writing at New Hampshire Institute of Art and Boston’s Grub Street writing center. He has also worked part-time as a counselor in a psychiatric hospital, primarily with autistic children and adolescents. He lives in New Hampshire with his wife and daughter.</p> <p>DYLAN NICE is the author of the short story collection Other Kinds. His stories and essays have appeared in NOON, Indiana Review, MAKE, Hobart, Brevity, and Quick Fiction, among others. He lives in Iowa and is a graduate of the University of Iowa's Nonfiction Writing Program.</p> <p>MARGARITA KOROL is an artist, writer, and the founder of Urban Pop Art Projects, a creative studio that works with artists and community organizations involved in humanitarian causes. The daughter of Soviet refuseniks, she was born in the Ukraine the week of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. She is the author and illustrator of the book Spoils of War: Ode to a Refusenik Mother, which contains a poem and seventeen vibrant panels commemorating her mother’s 1988 immigration from the Soviet Union to Chicago. Artwork from Spoils of War was exhibited at New York’s National Arts Club. Her series of propaganda posters was exhibited at the New York Aquarium’s 2011 ArtOnBrighton festival, and her installation commemorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, "Die Mauer," is housed at Chicago’s DANK-Haus German Cultural Center. </p>
