Wow. There's not even a frame there? You need more than sanding.</p> <p>The easiest way to get a door in there is with a pre-hung. The frame and the door come together. You just cut the sheet rock out to the size of the frame. Then you install the frame into the sheet rock with the door.</p> <p>I dare say any able-bodied adult with a hacksaw, a hammer, and a screwdriver could have done a better job than whoever did that. But he never finished the job (or didn't know what he was doing) so now the door doesn't even fit into the frame, is warped, and has a big gap at the top. </p> <p>I think that the door just needs to be sanded down to fit into the frame. It doesn't need to be fancy.
