I know, in the past, downtown didn't have a big enough residential presence to warrant its own neighborhood profile but don't you think things have changed? The recent influx of people to the area has been huge. Just saying.

I haven't seen an increased presence on this website, that that's really what it comes down to when considering splitting a new board here.(\__/)

Hi there, another Moderator here. To add to what Mamacita said... We tend to group lower-traffic (postings-wise) neighborhoods together or with more active ones so there is more activity in any given board. That way we avoid having neighborhood boards that only get a few postings per year. And as for established neighborhoods, even the Brooklyn Heights / DUMBO board is pretty sleepy here. It really all depends on who comes on to this site to post, either from or about each neighborhood. So the option would be to add Downtown to an existing board. In fact, from a geographical standpoint, it would seem to me to fit well as an addition to the Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO board. Hopefully folks from Downtown will come and make it a bit more active. How does that sound to you?i extend my battery life by turning down the brightness

So basically, SPREAD the WORD! Tell your friends and coworkers about Brooklynian. Have them login and interact, reply to posts, ask questions. Get the conversations going.(\__/)

Yes, go for it! I have updated the board titles to reflect the following: Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO and Downtown Forum for neighborhoods on the East River, near the bridges or at the nearby crossroads of it all.i extend my battery life by turning down the brightness

Thanks. I appreciate the addition of downtown to those existing boards. Makes perfect sense. I will certainly speed the word about Brooklynian to all my neighbors and friends. It's been a great resource to me for many years and was the reason I had my on blog for a few years as well. I learned so much from these postings and really do appreciate what you guys do.

stay tuned - we are about to reorg the boards a bit, so maybe there is a way we can give DB a higher profile.Brooklynian on Twitter: http://twitter.com/brooklynian
