I wouldn't normally admit to taking the time out of my busy work day to listen to radio clips, but those are pretty interesting. Especially O'Donnell's imitation of Leno. I had to slap my knee!
Can't imagine how Leno can show his face at 11:35 after this. -
kimmel was a hero last night, and i feel really bad for conan, but i'm not sure how much say leno has had in this, either. i definitely feel like it wasn't his idea at all. letterman has been blasting jeff zucker every night, and i think his are the right feet to be laying nearly all of the blame at. putz.your girl is something of a shrew, hubbell.

Posts: 9,622^I've been royally screwed by people I have worked for. It sucks. However, if I had a public platform to bitch about it, I still think there would be a point where people would just tell me to suck it up and get over it. Especially if I got $45M to do so. -
It should be noted that running up costs in the short-term probably helped in providing an extremely effective bargaining chip, making NBC (those that screwed this all up in the first place) pay up fairly to account for the yearly income Conan would have enjoyed if given the same stint Leno had before him. Anyone who can't see that NBC upped their settlement 50% from $30MM up to $45MM this week just to get him off the air immediately is completely missing the [just, IMO] genius of this.i extend my battery life by turning down the brightness

Also, remember that its not just that his bosses screwed him, they caused him to uproot his family and move them 3,000 miles away and did the same thing to another couple of hundred folks who worked for the show. While I do think that Conan is being very nicely compensated for his troubles, I don't think that the suits at NBC deserve to be treated any better.

as i don't watch TV much, i wouldn't particularly care, except that something about jay leno has always pissed me off. i don't know exactly why -- i don't find him funny, but it's more than that. he just seems like an asshole to me. so it's very cheering -- almost a relief -- to see that i'm not alone in that view. particularly the rosie/howard stern stuff.Bumping ancient threads with bot-like bullshit

Yeah, I will never watch anything Leno does again, ever. If he hosts an award show, I'm not watching. Ads? Not buying whatever he's selling. And I'm sure as hell not watching the Tonight Show. I hate that fucker.
