Yet another in a series of "my landlord is too cheap to fix anything" posts...

Our refrigerator has totally crapped out on us. Everything is lukewarm. Freezer works fine, though.

Anyone know a good, reasonably-priced refrigerator repair person? Again, our landlord refuses to pay for it, so we're on our own. Sigh.

We have used Dial Appliance ((718) 368-1512) and Accurate Appliance ((718) 236-7718). Both showed up when promised, did good work, and were reasonably priced.

If you are a regulated tenant and the fridge belongs to the landlord, you should report it to 311/HPD. If you are a free market tenant and the fridge belongs to your landlord, you should contact a tenant advocacy group to find out what your options are. It may be possible that you are entitled to deduct the cost of the repair from your next rent check.

I can 2nd the rec for Accurate. They will prioritize your fridge over things like dishwashers and washing machines - maybe you can get it fixed today.
Sucks about the landlord, save any receipts.

Thanks for the recommendations! We called Accurate Appliance and they were excellent. They were professional and friendly (both the office staff and the repair guys). We got an appt. for the next day, they showed up on time and fixed the problem quickly, at a reasonable cost. We will recommend them to others.

      Thanks again!

Bend, Oregon seems like a long way to go to have an appliance fixed.

For better or worse, the change on Nostrand is going to make the change on Franklin look minor.
