We've seen a lot of reckless crime victims recently, snatching guns out of the hands of would-be muggers, etc. Hate to say it, but ALMOST GETTING KILLED is the more likely outcome when you decide that your $199 smartphone is worth fighting for:
The 81-year-old man was standing on the J-line platform at Lorimer St about 11:45 a.m. on Friday when one of the thieves approached him and stole his smartphone. As the man chased his robber, a second suspect pushed him onto the trackbed below, police said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition, according to cops.
This poor old "octogenarian" is getting a lot of sympathy, while the "heartless" teens are subject to a lot of fist-shaking ire... not to excuse what the teens did, but I hope this octogenarian regrets giving chase over a ridiculous iPhone.
