We are truly delighted to be here as a community center in Windsor Terrace and are looking forward to working within the community.

Our programs are tailored to the needs and schedule demands of families.
We are fortunate to work with amazing and talented instructors to bring fun, dynamic programs for all ages, starting as young as pre-natal!

We are very transparent and encourage everyone to come check out our space, and meet our staff. As a Y, we provide a fee for service programs, and no membership is required!

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS – 2012-2013 Early Bird Discount!

Register for After School by January 1st, 2012 and pay this year’s rates! After School Program is available for children ages 5-12 from 1 to 5 days a week from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Homework assistance, yoga, art, literature, green projects, test prep, music, cooking, drama and more. Free transportation from school included.

The Saturday Funday Program is our weekly recreation/education program for children with significant learning disabilities, particularly those on the autism spectrum. It is truly unique to the Windsor Terrace community in that we provide a rich variety of activities that are specifically designed and planned for children on the autism spectrum.

The program will meet each Saturday from 11am-1pm. It will include physical activities, art and cooking projects, an educational component, and a nutritious snack. The activities will revolve around a new theme each week including the following topics: recognizing emotions, the importance of healthy eating, our environment and how we can protect it, etc. The activities will be educational and hands-on in order to be both fun and beneficial for children with on the spectrum. Children in the program can also use the open playspace at the Y after the program for no additional charge.

LGBTQ Get-together for Adoptive Families & Families-To-Be

Being a parent is a challenging and all encompassing commitment. Add adoption to the mix and things get a bit more complex. Find out how others have handled "sticky" situations, found support in their communities, "walked the walk," and "talked the talk." At the get-togethers, adults and children have the opportunity to learn, laugh, and socialize without worrying someone will say something insensitive about adoption or your family.

For the first time, Ohel Ayalah and the Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace are collaborating on running a Passover seder.

It will take place on Friday night April 6, the first night of the holiday, at our location. The seder is reaching out to families with children, but is open to all. It will be led by Amanda Pogany, an experienced Jewish educator, who will create a traditional yet contemporary seder, one that will meet the needs of both adults and children. This seder will aim to satisfy those who have been going to seders all their lives and also those for whom the seder is new.

Brooklyn Seder fees: Adults, $30 p/p; children 3-12 years old, $10 per child; children under 3 who sit on a parent's lap, no charge.

The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace Hebrew Sports and Stage Arts Production Camp seeks to provide an enriching environment where campers experience a complete immersion in Hebrew language, through sports, stage arts production, and intertwining Israeli cultural elements.

The Kings Bay Y is a strong believer in the importance of traditions in a child’s life. The Hebrew Immersion is a fundamental component of the camp curriculum, and is reinforced in fun and engaging activities led by experienced native-Israeli staff members and fluent Hebrew speakers.

The camp will focus on making Hebrew fun by giving campers exposure to Hebrew in different mediums such as spoken word, reading, hearing the sounds of the language, memorizing text, and through interactive Hebrew games. Through the staff led activities, campers will increase their self-esteem and confidence in their ability to speak Hebrew.

Camp Dates: June 12, 2012 – June 27, 2012 from 8:30am-6pm
Where: Camp activities will be conducted at The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace as well as our main site, the Kings Bay Y, located in Sheepshead Bay
Who: Highly trained instructors and specialists in drama, theatre, music, art and sports will guide activities

BEGINNING CROCHET

The Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace is offering Beginning Crochet! Crocheting is a fun, relaxing and creative activity for kids! Your child will learn to make puppets, bow ties and other fun crafts. Learn beginner techniques such as how to chain as well as single and double crochet stitches. Supplies included: yarn, hooks and visual instructions.

Available as an Enrichment Class in After School GRADES (2-6) MONDAYS, 5:15-6:15pm
