Ok, I'll admit that I'm a huge America's Next Top Model fan (but in a sardonic, bitchy sort of way). If you are too, read on.
I went into Cocoa Bar on 7th Ave today for a simple latte and who the #$&* is working the register but Naima Mora, Cycle 4 winner of ANTM! I nearly pissed my pants, but remained completely cool and pretended not to recognize her. I could swear, however, that she really, desperately wanted to be recognized.
I will now be returning to Cocoa Bar every day.

How sure are you that it was her??? I hate to admit it, but i am also a Top Model fan (although less so in the more recent, kind of crappy, cycles). I will definitely be headed in there to check it out.

I am 85% sure. Seriously. If you're watching Project Runway, you may have seen that she tried out for the model casting for the latest Bryant Park show.

next time just ask her. why not...better than prolonging eye-contact and risking looking like a weirdo (ive done this with a "semi" celeb that worked near me in college and am convinced i looked like a stalker or something now looking back.) _________________ whoa hey whoa hey whoa

she is the youngest of four sisters, one of whom is a twin sister, Nia, a photographer in New York.

Actually it could have been her. I would have had no idea she was around (hell, I couldn't even remember who she was), but then she happened to be in this band that opened up for my husband's band this past weekend at BAM. Its called Chewing Pics.

I have watched the show (not religously) and I'm not surprised that someone who won is working the register...I don't think it's a great springboard to your career. Curious if it is her (I did notice her audition on Project Runway...don't think she made that either) _________________ Peanuts

My roomie dated her after she won- she crashed with him (on Eastern Parkway) and then screwed one of his friends.

Was she fierce? I'm not surprised she's working behind a counter. Some of the "winners" have been curious picks. _________________ your anger is delicious. - dieter

I actually think it's Nia, not Naima. She looks a lot like her sister, but not 100% the same.

ok seriously now people... the girl on line waiting for her hot chocolate in front of me today asked the barista if she was indeed Naima of top model fame and she responded YES.
She seems nice enough and also seems to be just going about her life as any of us would. You work, make money, pay your bills and so on. i see it like this... top model, barista, circus clown or pre school teacher the girl has a job. Just leave her alone and get one with your lives ...

Haha, what a fucking loser. One of you guys should go ask if you could take a picture with her, but the poor girl would think back to being photographed during her "modeling career".
Hahaha. The only way this shit could be sweeter is if she ended up at the McDonalds on 4th ave.

A "fucking loser"? How would you describe someone who has nothing better to do than to gloat at the misfortune of others?

who's the loser? it must be YOU. I am NOT a fan of ANTM however I respect anyone who is trying to make a go of things in their life. I have gone from the bottom to the top and right back down again. I have made a lot of money and I've made no money in a years time. I am not proud and if it means surviving then I would be happy to serve coffee at coca bar or mickey d's. You are a smug loser and if you ever find yourself in a position of need to survive, don't come calling here.

I've noticed her there for the past couple of weeks but I always thought it was her sister. I'm surprised it's her. But, if anyone wants to see real beauty you have to check out the brunette barista with the blue/green eyes and thick eyelashes. That's the knockout of Cocoa Bar. When she's working it doesn't bother me at all that they are so incredibly glacial when it comes to making my sugar-free vanilla latte.

great. pastoralia; let's award good looks, which one has nothing to do with, and forgive crappy behavior. that's what makes this country suck. (no offense to that girl, whoever she is) wouldn't it be a different world if those who tried, and were kind were rewarded? _________________ Ask a burning question, get a burning answer.

hey chipster and smugster, are you just on here to goad us into saying stuff that will then get gawkered ("look what those silly park slopians are fighting about now!"), or are you really just that grouchy?

I went in today & she was there. It was almost as exciting as the time Steve Buscemi walked by me on the sidewalk on my birthday.

OHHH my word!!! I was so excited when I saw here, I nearly urinated all over myself. She signed her autograph on my coffee cup. It is something I will treasure for a long time. I will probably display it on my coffee table. I was thinking of putting some spice drops in it for my guests.

My daughter saw another one of them (I don't watch the show) at the coop. I think her name was Claire and she had a baby? _________________ Ok, now I'm crazy. Another goal achieved.
