Where in Park Slope (North Slope, preferably) can I see the 4th season premiere of Mad Men? My friends are either out of town, not interested, or with no cable...

Mad Men Viewing
If you’re in Park Slope (and you don’t have cable) you can watch those mad men and women smoke and drink at Bar 4 (444 Seventh Avenue in Park Slope), where they’re having a Mad Men viewing party. You can also watch it a Duffy Square (between 45th and 47th Streets and Broadway and Seventh Avenue) at 9 p.m. (one hour earlier than watching it on TV). Prior to the screening there will be The screening will be “Mad Men” costume contests and Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy, the copywriter from Brooklyn.

OK this was a bad lead. They have regular comedy nite every sunday. They did not have any plans to watch Mad Men. Bummer, cause a bunch of folks went to watch, and wound up watching some seriously raunchy stand-up.

Last week Sheep Station (4th Ave & Douglass) agreed to show it. It went so well that the owner has agreed to reserve the back room and play it on a projector each week! Plus, they have good Don and Roger-esque drinks!

So sad, too bad!
Due to a cable issue, Sheep Station will not be playing Mad Men this week. Will definitely be resolved by next week though.

I haven't seen any of this series but now I am curious. Geez would have to start at the beginning and watch 3 entire seasons to catch up. Now that happened with Breaking Bad (I thought it was great) but my friends and family had to insist that I do something else with my life and not continue the marathon I had started for myself watching it in obsession. So Mad Men is really worth my time?

Nothing wrong with a good TV series watching marathon. I've done it a few times, including The Wire, Six Feet Under and Breaking Bad. Mad Men certainly lives up to the hype.

I can attest that my life did, in fact, improve when I started watching The Wire. Mad Men is also pretty fun--at the very least for the costumes and design and the instant connection you make with fellow watchers.
