Would you mind explaining the difference (if you happen to know) between the precinct, community and association meetings? I've been to one precinct meeting but not the other two, and I'm wondering how they differ/what they cover. Thanks!

The precinct council meetings deal with policing issues. The Community Board meetings deal with other issues that the community might have with other city agencies. The other meeting deals with a little of both but focused on North Crown Heights only. They are all very informative and you get to meet some of the community leaders and speak to them one on one.

I didn't copy down the info for the meeting yesterday and the site was down. I assume the next meeting will be the second Monday in June right?

Yes it is. Its June 12, 2006 at 7:30pm. It will be held at the 77th Precinct, 127 Utica Avenue, corner of Utica and Bergen.

Just a note: the CHNA meeting on May 24 is not it's regular meeting but one called by the Landmark Preservation Commission to announce it's intent to landmark some sections of northern North Crown Heights. The meeting is being co-sponsored by Councilman Al Vann.
The meeting will be at 7 PM (not 6). The meeting will be at St. Gregory the Great RC School, next to the church building. This should be a very important meeting in preparation for the long-awaited landmarking, so if you live in the North Crown Heights area, you should make every effort to attend.
