apt on south elliott place — Brooklynian

apt on south elliott place

I recently moved out of a large one bedroom on 33 south elliott place. first floor. extremely high ceilings. completely renovated. dishwasher, new fridge, new stove, new hardwood floors. i was paying 1700.

WARNING!!!

the apartment sits above the boiler room that lacks ceiling insulation--you hear everything including the boiler sounding off every two minutes [i thought it was the upstairs neighbor moving furntiure]. not to mention the extremely cold floors during winter due to no insulation on the ceiling of basement. the heat pipes rattle and knock all winter. the two front doors of building align the apt's livingroom wall and the doors slam and bang [and the landlord whitaker, brooke, harrison refuses to acknowledge the issue]. the walls are so thin that i had to turn on my humidifier in my bedroom to silence the upstairs neighbor who snores every night like a whiskey-drunk madman.

Avoid 33 South Elliott Place...

Calitransplant

p.s. the other 7 apartments in the building HAVE NOT been renovated. so creaky stairs, creaky floors are a daily nuisance. not to mention no padding [rubber or carpeted] on the public staircases--meaning you hear the tenant on the fourth floor slam her door, walk down each step with high-healed aggression, then level off outside your front door and off and away to make her pennies in Manhattan!
