I've been performing with a friggin great singer from Guinea for two years, but Friday will be the last time for us in Brooklyn. She's heading back to Guinea later this month, so unless you want to hear her in Manhattan or Conakry, this will be your last chance to hear her for a long long time.

I'm not going to make any promises that I can't keep, so let me say this: If you come Friday, you will want to move to Guinea to hear Missia sing. You will want to forget all your other concerns and only contemplate the 13th century rise of Emperor Sundiata Keita. If you come, you will dance, and you will move parts of your body that you forgot you had. Our band rocks.

Our last show at Barbes was a blast- everyone was so high energy for so many hours.
