Climate Change Forum @ UPROSE — Brooklynian

Climate Change Forum @ UPROSE

Via Community Board 7:

Today's destruction in Bay Ridge and Sunset Park (threat of tornado) and the recent explosion in mid Manhattan are reminders of the effects of climate change combined with the City's aging infrastructure. On July 26th Sunset Park leaders and residents met at UPROSE to begin the process of addressing the implications of climate change for our community. UPROSE will be contacting each organization to do a presentation and solicit your input, but you are also encouraged to engage in these monthly community planning efforts.

We are working closely with the Mayor's Office on Sustainability and Long Term Planning and want to take advantage of their generous offer to bring resources and technical assistance to Sunset Park.

Please join us September 26th at 6pm at UPROSE.

The planning has implications for our greenway design, 197a plan, BOA process , waterfront park and other planning initiatives that need to be looked at with a climate change lens. This of course includes the safety of the Gowanus Expressway, the structure of the new High School. We look forward to hearing from you

Peace and Blessings,

Elizabeth
