Here is a 35-second video I took of Diana Johnson after she walked the parade on Sunday. She is running for Surrogate Court Judge in the primary coming up on September 18.



This will probably be a very low turnout election, and so a few votes (such as yours) could be very influential. Judicial races in general are weird, since the candidates can't really talk about their opinions and the whole idea of electing judges is also odd to me.

But this race is important because there is a lot of room for corruption in the office. I am supporting Johnson because she has much more experience than the other candidate Shawndya Simpson. Simpson is being supported by Vito Lopez, and lives in New Jersey, which is a problem because by law, the candidate must live in Brooklyn.

I'm not saying that Johnson in perfect, but she has been endorsed by CBID, a club that I am an active member.
