Figured I'd try my luck here.

Does anyone know of an owner in Fort Greene missing his/her black, green-eyed, vocal and friendly kitty? This cat has been hanging around my building for the last 3 evenings. He's VERY friendly and affectionate, but unfortunately has no collar. This leads me to believe he isn't meant to be an 'outdoor' cat, but of course I could be wrong. He seems to be waiting for someone in my building to get home each night.

I'm not sure what to do for him -- I can't take him in; I don't want to feed him because he will come back repeatedly if he knows he can get food here; I don't want to put up signs because that means I have to take him in, which, as I said, I cannot do; I don't want to call 311 because I don't want him to end up at a shelter if his home is nearby.
