In response to a question, NO you do not have to buy a thing to see the exhibit at Gallery on Dean (although sitting in the garden with an ice tea or a cold beer this weekend can't be all bad). Just walk in, go to the Garden Gallery and see some amazing pictures. And leave if you want to be like that... This exhibit by Bruce Frisch (formerly of 2nd Street in Park Slope and a photographer with more than 150 national mag covers under his belt) has had some of the most enthusiastic comments in the four years of hanging stuff at Gallery on Dean (Corner of Underhill. It is at 755 Dean in the back of Tavern on Dean which, by the way, takes NO commission from the artists or photographers, AND pays for the reception and invite...) Also, I am paid nothing to curate the space. My reward will be in Heaven or some other nether region.Like Queens probably. So amble down on this hot weekend (11-11 on Sat- Sundays, 4-2 other days) and see "Rise of the World Trade Center." I, ever so humbly, think you will be impressed by the quality of the work right here in Prospect Heights. The show is up until October 16 when a Union Street professor from Pratt will take over the space. P.S. If the gallery room looks closed, just ask and they'll part the curtains for you.
