The fabric store on Seventh Ave (on the corner of Berkeley or the street next to it) probably could send you to someone . . . or ask at a dry cleaners that does tailoring. I haven't had this done in this neighborhood...

There aren't any good places around here, not anymore, they all left about 10 years ago, just like there are no Butchers, there use to be one on Vanderbilt between prospect and park, i remember going in there as a kid and ordering 2 pounds of filet Mignon, that was 15 or 18 years ago.. -

Are you talking about simple straight curtains, or something more complicated? If you're just talking about straight curtains with a little tube at the top for a curtain rod, it's super-easy and cheap to do yourself with an iron and hemming tape (no sewing!), and you can find some how-to instructions with a little Googling. I have gorgeous raw silk curtains in my living room I did myself that way.
