Bistro St. Marks closed?
Just saw this on Chowhound. Can anyone confirm?

When I was driving up Flatbush yesterday I noticed that it was not open for brunch.

They had an add posted on Craigslist months ago to lease out their business.

Awesome. I took my girlfriend at the time there for Valentine's Day two years ago, and had one of the most mediocre dining experiences ever. For those prices, the food and service need to be outstanding. We were largely ignored by the waitstaff, who served us stunningly average (at best) food. They deserved to close, IMO.

Have dined there numerous times, experiences ranging from average to excellent. Inconsistency along food and service lines kept me from returning more often.
Not at all surprised by your report, but I do wish that you had been able to experience it when they were "on", as it was very much worth the money.
They brought something to the North Slope/P. Heights neighborhood that was, at the time, somewhat vanguard. I lament it, if only for nostalgia's sake.JamesonVandy wrote: Awesome. Subject: Closed!!!
It apparently closed because Dominique and his partner got into a huge fight, and instead of resolving their issues and selling the place, they decided to close it down!! -
yeah, only went during their prix fixe menu. It seemed like that was pretty popular, I guess that was the only time anyone went!

I stopped going there several months ago because the service was so abysmal every single time I went. Screw 'em.

I had brunch there a few times and it was always nice, good service, and live music in the garden.

I agree that the live music was nice, but you lucked out on everything else. They were horrible.
