My cookbook is out!

So you know - get it. Or don't. I don't care anymore. Do what you want. Fine.

  • Being published must be cool. Congrats.
  • Damn, you're hot. I might buy it for the sexy factor.

Any relation to the Manhattan borough president?
  • Dont you have some DVD's too?

and Holy Shit! Joan Jett read your book! That rules

Its my vegan friends birthday today I think you just saved me some time
  • Amazon Visa® Reward Points: 34!! Woohoo!

Congratulations, by the way! This is a proud moment, to witness one of the earliest and bestest "Friends of DH" become obscenely famous... so famous that even Joan Jett gets in on the action.

Being a vegan myself this is so cool to know that someone from the nabe published a book of this magnitude! I shall go and buy now. Thanks.
  • Thanks guys!
  • I'm definitely going to get it, but I'm waiting until Andy sets up a link to Amazon so DH can get the referral fee. :D
  • Subject: straight street dealing

    Yo Isa,

Can Christy and I buy one from you directly? We could meet on the corner of St. Johns and Underhill and I could give you the cash and then you could go around the corner and pass it to Christy in a crumpled paper bag.

    PM Me!
  • Congrats on the book!

But I have a Post Punk Kitchen suggestion: Video Podcast. No irony. No joke. But seriously, think about it.

Apple's barely got any video podcasts going--because it's so new--and instructional and fun stuff like this seems like it would be a perfect match.
  • I thought the days of dealing vegan cookbooks on shady street corners was over for me. Actually, I don't sell the books directly. I think Community Bookstore Cafe might? Barnes and Nobles definitely has one - I took it and put it in front of the Rachel Ray display for shits and giggles.

Thanks! I was thinking of setting them up as bit torrents but I'm lazy. I didn't even know that video podcasts existed, how is that possible?

Here are the two technical links from Apple about it. Basically, it's just like doing an audio podcast but with video (duh). But there are things that need to be done to the videos--and the RSS/XML feed--to make it all work together.

This explains the encoding process to make the videos viewable in iTunes and on the new video capable iPods.

This explains the RSS/XML stuff needed to get listed in the podcast directory of the iTunes store.

In fact looking at your site, I'd say it would be a good idea to simply have the clips you currently have up converted into iPod compatible format as an option as well. That way people who want to can download the clips on their own and add it to their iPod like a song without having to go to the iTunes podcast directory.

If you need any help, let me know. Been playing around on my own--and for clients--on how all this works.
  • This book is really fantastic. I just got one for my sister, she's a vegan pastry chef, she'll dig this.

    Big Congrats!
  • Congrats!!! Now, when are you hosting a dinner party, or maybe I should say...when am I hosting a dinner party and having you bring something???

I missed the picnic this summer:(

OMG, I love Rachel Ray! How dare you!
Just kidding. Well, I do love her. And I wanna be her when I grow up-but I promise I won't say "awesome" every two minutes and I won't giggle constantly.
    Awsome! Congratulations!

I am relieved that she keeps failing at everything because our names are just too similar.
