Fine Woodwork

Anybody could recommend a fine woodworker in the neigborhood for the restauration of an antique shelf? The job entails some fine cutting. Needs to be experienced with antiques.

  • yes, i'm also looking for someone who can make a leaf for a dining room table and also someone who can build custom bookshelves.

  • The Cabinet Shop, which is discussed towards the middle of this thread may be able to help with some of those projects. Especially the bookshelves. Ours turned out great.

They make decent shelves for the price (I've gotten tons of stuff from them already) but they don't do woodwork like what you're looking for (antique restoration-type stuff). I'd check along Atlantic Avenue, although I don't have a specific recommendation.

  • Subject: Master Woodworker

The owner of the MailBox company on the corner of Washington and Prospect Place is a professional woodworker. He built all of the flower/treeboxes that line Washington Ave...he builds bookshelves, doghouses, bedframes, and anything else you can imagine...his name is Hi-leejay...
