You Wanna Fight? Here's how.
Subject: You Wanna Fight? Here's how.
Its simple. click here, sign up to walk, and send emails to your friends/family/colleagues asking them to donate. and/or donate at the same link. OR if you can't be at the walkathion but just want to donate read on and join the DailyHeights team to walk against Ratnerville.Dear Friends, Neighbors and others,
On Sunday, November 13th, please join your fellow DailyHeighters for Walk Don't Destroy, a walkathon fundraiser to benefit Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn's legal fund.
I've formed a DailyHeights community team for the walkathon, which will trace the footprint of Forest City Ratner's proposed Atlantic Yards development.
Participating is easy - just visit http://dddb.kintera.org/walkdontdestroy/dailyheights, and click on Join Our Team. If you're unable to take part on the 13th, you can still help the cause by clicking on the General Team Donation link.
Develop Don't Destroy's legal team is preparing now for costly court battles over eminent domain, adverse environmental impacts and the misappropriation of publicly owned property. The courts may well end up being the only means for our community to influence the development of the rail yards, and the success of Develop Don't Destroy's legal effort will depend entirely on the financial support of folks like us.
Please join me, your friends and neighbors in walking to raise money and awareness. For more information, visit http://dddb.net/walkathon.
Sincerely,
Daniel Goldstein

I hope Ratner Wins.
btw, what would it mean, exactly, if "Ratner Wins" ? -

If you don't want to see ratner's proposal come to fruition, come out and walk.
Registering online is easy, and once you do, you can use the template provided to hit up your friends and neighbors for money.
It's easy to ask for money this way, and it raises awareness, and allows those who support the cause (but are too busy) an easy way to pitch in.
The walk will be fun, with a pre-party and a post-party.
Hope you can make it! Don't underestimate the importance of your presence :-) -

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, local (and national) star Rosie Perez will be the Grand Marshall. -
