Drying Your Clothes Just Got Dangerous — Brooklynian

Drying Your Clothes Just Got Dangerous

Imagine:

• Putting your 2 sets of wet clothes (similar amounts) in 2 identical driers at a laundry

• Placing 6 quarters (41 minutes worth) in both machines

• After 41 minutes, one set of your clothes is bone dry and the other set is wet (wet not damp)

• An employee of the laundry tells you he is going to do a test on the machine that will prove it works. After the test doesn’t go how he explained he says, the test doesn’t prove anything

• You are then told by the owner that your clothes didn’t dry because of a secret he shares with you about his identical machines (I call it a secret because he doesn’t post this information anywhere in the laundry)

• The owner expects you to put more money in a machine if you want your clothes dried in his laundry (even after it was never proven the machine is working properly)

• Walking home with wet clothes

Well it happened to me at Park Slope Washing Center, 261 Flatbush Avenue

You may be in danger of walking home with wet clothes today even if the drier was not working properly at Park Slope Washing Center

Or Perhaps

You may be in danger of walking home with wet clothes today if you don’t know the secret about the machines at Park Slope Washing Center

I will be washing clothes at other spots in the area. Sure I will have to walk an extra block or two, but that beats walking home with a bag of wet clothes.

If you know of a good laundry in the Flatbush Ave. and Bergen St. area please let me know.

  • So what's the big secret?

    Do tell...

(Not just Calgon, I hope. )

That's very unfortunate. Sounds like they should be pulling out or repairing or at least temporarily taping off these bad machines. Definitely unethical to take customers' money in them otherwise.
